On Feiglin

By Richard Bienenfeld

Moshe Feiglin is a great intellect and creative thinker. His ideas, like those of most great men in history, are slightly ahead of their time and frequently fall on deaf ears. He is the first great Post Zionist.

Where the Zionists were Nationalists, born out of an era of Nationalist extremists, Moshe sees the future of Israel in the light of true Redemption.

He sees a reality and a future in the Takana of this World into a Malchut Sha-kai a world of peace-loving people with an understanding of their roots and a humanity based on an understanding of the constant Hand that continues to influence events, the Hand of a Creator who demands Holiness of his people and their Land.

He understands that the power of a people so devoted will not only overwhelm their enemies, but will also encourage those enemies to one day lay down their arms and follow the example of the Light eminated by the Chosen People.

He is unabashed by Chosen-ness, he is unabashed by Jewishness. He understands that our treasure is greater than their treasure, and that Humanity has the ability to recognize the special character of Jewishness and Judaism, and clearly sees the folly of abandoning that Treasure for the sake of gaining acceptance among the Nations, when the real truth is that the Nations always take us to task, and harshly, when we abandon the spiritual leadership that they expect in the Jewish people.

Moshe is the first political leader to express a platform of true Jewish pride and soulful and spiritual leadership. He is restoring the soul to what is now, a body of Israel bereft of a soul.

This is not an easy message to grasp for people brought up on Western, secular, if not anti-religious ideals (which unfortunately includes many observant and other well-meaning people).

Yet this message must be taught and promoted until its time catches up with it.
