Just Talking is a Catastrophe

By Moshe Feiglin

From the Knesset podium, Tzippy Livni announced that negotiations are taking place over Jerusalem. But Netanyahu, Lieberman and Bennett, who opposed the bill that would have prevented this type of negotiation, continue to pay lip-service to their commitment to our Holy City. As opposed to others from the National Camp, I think that ‘just talking’ is a catastrophe for which we will pay a dear price.
Instead of the 1967 lines, they will call it ‘the American Framework’. In exchange for giving away our Land, the Americans – not the Arabs, will recognize our right to exist.
The problem is not ‘peace’, ‘security’, ‘demography’ or ‘American pressure.’ The problem is loss of identity. When we are confident in our Jewish identity: who we are and what we are doing here – we will have peace, security, a healthy and ethical economy, a solid Jewish majority throughout Israel and the ability to overcome external  pressure.
