The Shamrak Report: Trump is Waiting to Hear what Netanyahu Wants

By Shimon Cohen
At an event in Gush Etzion's Oz Vegaon, Co-chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel Marc Zell said "Trump will not tell Israel whether or not to build or annex. He will respect the Israeli government's decisions regarding Israel's future. This is a revolutionary policy." "For fifty years, since the Six Day War, no American government has agreed to adopt this policy. Instead, they have pushed various forms of a 'peace processes,' which all offered land in return for peace, two states for two nations, and so on."
"If Israel decides to expand the current settlements in Judea and Samaria, Washington would accept that. I'm not saying they'll love it. But yes, they will respect it. And that's a huge thing.
"Obama's supporters claim they gave Israel the most money of any US government. But they gave $600 million per year towards our missile defense shields - and that's nearly all of the $38 billion they gave. It's not an unprecedented amount of money, and Obama also limited the amount of money he was willing to give Israel, so Congress could not decide to give more.
"So for instance, if Iran was to develop nuclear weapons and we needed extra protection, we could not ask for it," Zell explained. "Trump, on the other hand, has left it open, and if we need more money we can ask and we might just get it.
"Obama paid no attention to the fact that Iran is threatening Israel. He didn't want to get into it. But Trump is willing to get into it.
"Without criticizing Israel's Prime Minister, the Israeli government is just not prepared for Trump's pace. Trump works like a racehorse, and was about to declare he was moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem. But Israel was just not prepared for it." (Let hope that Netanyahu has realised by now the new reality and will act accordingly!)
Nothing has changed!
“I want to tell Carter and Begin that when the Arabs set off their volcano there will be only Arabs in this part of the world… Our people will continue to fuel the torch of the revolution with rivers of blood until the whole of the occupied homeland is liberated, the whole of the homeland is liberated, not just a part of it.” - Yasser Arafat (Associated Press, March 12, 1979)
“Peace for us means the destruction of Israel. We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations… We shall not rest until the day when we return to our home, and until we destroy Israel.” - Yasser Arafat (El Mundo, Venezuela, February 11, 1980; The Times, UK, August 5, 1980)
Food for Thought by Steven Shamrak
Before and after Israel removed Jewish families, using force, from Gaza there were no international objections and condemnations, although Israel was violating the Fourth Geneva convention which forbids “population transfer” under any circumstances! Since then terror attacks from Gaza escalated. Let be honest about the situation, so-called Palestinians are not victims - they are perpetrators of terror against the Jewish state. They are occupiers of the Jewish land - it is time to end this travesty!
Supreme Court is a Threat to Democracy
MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) criticized the Supreme Court Sunday as he expressed his support for a bill which would prevent the court from overturning laws passed by the Knesset. "Once again the Supreme Court annuls laws, and it is not entirely clear where that authority comes from. Once that happens every other day, it becomes something that is blatantly anti-democratic. We need to get back to a reality in which there is a balance and each side knows its limitations… There is an election (for legislators) every four years but it (the Supreme Court) has decided what is good for us... Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has become a threat to democracy."
Israel has fewer diplomatic missions worldwide than the Palestinian Authority 103-102. Additionally, while Israel only has representation in 78 countries, the Palestinians are represented in 95 countries. Israel's international presence is growing weaker due to closures and budgetary constraints; for the first time ever, the PA has more international missions than Israel; Arab League and Iran have 1,941 in total, while Israel has 102. (Thanks to international aid the PA does not have budgetary problems!)
The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system activated last Wednesday night to intercept three incoming missiles that were fired from the Sinai Peninsula at the Red Sea port city of Eilat. A total of four missiles were fired at Eilat. There were no physical injuries to any of the residents. (Eventually, Egypt must be held accountable for allowing attacks on Israel from Sinai! The time will come soon when Israel have to take control over Sinai Peninsula again.)
The European Union is funding dozens of projects that are dedicated to the destruction of Israel. The European Union is the single largest donor to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the Arab-Israeli conflict, accounting for NIS 28.1 million in 2012-2014 to politicized Israeli NGOs alone. A total of 42 of the 180 grantees funded by the EU reportedly support the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) Movement!
Israel’s economic growth is expected to hit 3.8% for 2016. Job creation is strong, at almost 3 percent in 2016 (the US economy expanded at around 1.4% in 2016), helping reduce the unemployment rate to only 4.4 percent by the fourth quarter.
Quote of the Week:
"We have Jews here who only pretend to be Jews. Their fathers' fathers arrived in Israel because they believed this is their homeland, but today, their grandchildren have reached the conclusion that this is the land of the Palestinian Arabs... The Bible is not just the birthplace of our culture. It's the birthplace of our faith; it's our certificate of ownership; it is G-d's eternal promise to the Jewish people that He will watch over Israel's borders... If they feel that this is not their homeland, let them leave.” - Moshe Zar, Zionist pioneer.
The Next Step is Sovereignty
Regulation Bill passes 2nd and 3rd Knesset readings. The bill formulated to retroactively legalize outposts built on privately-owned Palestinian land, offering Palestinian land owners compensation: the vote, which passed by majority of 60-52, comes despite Netanyahu’s requests for its postponement, and despite Attorney General’s assurances that he will not defend it in the High Court. Moments after the law was passed, the three main anti-Zionist NGOs who made it necessary in the first place, Peace Now, Adalah, and Yesh Din, announced they would appeal it at the Supreme Court. (The biggest enemy of Israel and Jewish people are not Arabs, so-called Palestinian or international anti-Semite. The enemies are among us – it has always been like this!)
According to the proposal, the state will transfer the rights of the lands’ use to the Commissioner of Government Property in the West Bank while Palestinian landowners will be compensated with a financial package amounting to a sum exceeding the land’s actual worth, or receive alternative plots in accordance with their choice.
The Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are “an irreversible process”, explained MK Yehuda Glick (Likud).
“If we see thousands of houses that are in danger, we have to make sure that they are legal, and therefore the law which legalizes these houses is something to which we are obligated. The Israeli government, run by Binyamin Netanyahu and the Likud party, we promised our people that we positively support the Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, and we will do everything we can in that regard.” “Eventually, our next step is implementing Jewish-Israeli sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria,” declared Glick.
“This is an historic day because for the first time in many years we are bringing the decision-making process back to the Knesset, back to the people. The decision about the future of the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria will not be made in the rooms of the attorneys general, not in the halls of the judges of the Supreme Court and definitely not by the radical leftist organizations,” said MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home). The Regulation Law is also historic because it provides “an appropriate Zionist response to that racist, anti-Semitic law in the Palestinian Authority which imposes death sentences on anyone who sells land to Jews. We all know that without this terrible law, Arabs would sell and Jews would buy, and we wouldn’t need to regulate anything by law. But they have an anti-Semitic law and today we enacted the Jewish-Zionist law which provides the appropriate answer,” he added.
In a statement, PLO Secretary-General Saeb Erekat said “the Israeli parliament has just approved a law to legalize theft of Palestinian land. Looting is illegal. All Israeli settlements in Occupied Palestine are illegal and a war crime regardless of any law passed by the Israeli parliament or any decision taken by any Israeli judge. (When the enemies of Jews – Arabs, Muslims and others - are angry at Israel, it means the government of Israel has done something right!)
