Moshe Feiglin: Israel Must Stop Ignoring Human Rights Catastrophe in Syria

A regional power that pretends to represent the values of freedom and human rights cannot continue with its policy of ignoring the crimes against humanity being committed in Syria. If Israel would create a safe haven (in the northern Syrian Golan Heights, for example) protected by Israeli jets, which would afford Syrian citizens refuge from the terror raining down upon them, its status as a regional power would be strengthened.

Instead, Netanyahu's 'ostrich policy' has promoted Israel's flight from its moral responsibility toward the region. Even worse, it has fostered the entry of Russia into the vacuum that has been created, preventing Israel's air force from defending Israel from Syrian skies, as it had done in the past.

It is in our hands to decide if we choose to be the solution or the problem - a global asset or a global liability.
